This short training session serves as a tribute to the bravest group of mothers and children all around us but is also a call on all families in the community that have time, energy, resources or just an extra hand available to consider playing a part in lifting some of the burden from those families with only a mother in the house. It is not an extensive, failproof model or a miracle process to take all the existing problems away, but we hope that the training will:
- Empower single mothers to understand their challenge better and help them to access what input from other families in the community can help to make their children thrive.
-Empower families in communities to play their part as mentoring and supporting families to these single mother lead households, by understanding simple possibilities of engagement.
-Empower youth workers to engage with these children in a well-informed way to make the best impact.
